Pinewood Derby Schedules

Basics:
Fairfield East Elementary.    Thursday   2-3-2011

Rules:
All Scouts must be in uniform, no exceptions please.
They should have received their cars and rules for the Pinewood Derby. If you have not received these, contact your Den Leader ASAP. Remember to call your den leader of you have questions about the rules. Rules for the Adult/Alumni’s division are simple: Must fit in the box and weigh no more than 5oz.

Pre-Race Clinic:
Weighing and checking cars at the day of the race is time consuming. It is also frustrating for the parents and the Scouts when they have to make last minutes modifications or, in extreme cases, find that the car will not be permitted to race due to rule violations. We will have a pre-race clinic on Thursday, January 13, 2010 7:00pm - 9:00pm. Please try to make the weigh in on Sunday the 16th if at all possible. You can stop in for a few minutes to have your car weighed and checked to ensure you have no surprises on race day. Location is The Medecke house 3842 Treadway Trail Hamilton 45011 . PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE TO THE OTHER RACERS. Make sure all wheels and weights are securely attached to your car. Showing up the same day as the race, mounting your weights, and having them fall off is not good planning and sportsmanship. Please use the race clinic to determine your weight needs prior to the race.

Concessions:
We will have food and drinks available again this year. Lots of food and drinks so don’t worry about eating before you come. Come early and eat lots.

Schedule:
The approximate schedule for the races is listed below. All Scouts must arrive 30 minutes prior to their racing time to check-in/weigh-in. No Scout will be permitted to race with another den if they do not arrive in time for their own race. NO EXCEPTIONS. They can run at the end of all races, but will not be eligible for any prizes. NOTE: if all boys for a den have checked-in, we may proceed to race earlier than scheduled to move things along. However, the check–in times will remain set to allow for each boy to participate. ONCE CARS ARE CHECKED IN, THEY CANNOT BE REMOVED, TOUCHED, OR CHANGED IN ANY WAY. THEY WILL ONLY BE HANDLED BY DESIGNATED OFFICIALS. Also, please make sure your den/boys, proceed to sit down after they have been checked in and their voting has been done. PLEASE, NO LOITERING AROUND THE CHECK- IN/WEIGH-IN AREA..
